Australia Bushfires: How You Can Help

ProductPayPalPeopleVolunteerism PerformanceSocial Impact

Over the last two months, bushfires in Australia have killed at least 28 people, destroyed more than 2,200 homes, and ravaged 25 million acres of land. Australia’s renowned wildlife and unique ecosystems are taking a devastating toll, with hundreds of millions of animals perishing. Throughout the country Australians are coming together to help feed, house and support those impacted – and people around the world are coming together in amazing ways to show support.
With more than 8 million customers and over 140 employees in Australia, this disaster hits home for PayPal. Together with PayPal Giving Fund Australia, we have launched a global disaster relief campaign to support organizations working in Australia to support relief efforts. 100% of your donation received by PayPal Giving Fund Australia will go to support selected charities providing relief and recovery efforts.*
PayPal is also matching donations made by its employees globally, under its employee donation program. And through our PayPal Gives grant-making program, we’ll be making donations to benefit the Red Cross, WIRES, and St. Vincent de Paul totaling $500,000 AUD, helping to support relief efforts on the ground.
Our PayPal community of customers, employees, and partners comes together time and again during times of crisis to take action to support those in need. We’re deeply grateful to anyone who is able to help provide disaster relief to the families and communities who are suffering the impacts of the bushfires in Australia.
*NOTE: Fees apply for the donor when converting currency. For more information please see the PayPal  User Agreement in your country.
Donations made from outside of Australia will generally not be tax deductible. Please seek professional tax advice.
