I’m excited to share that following a competitive tender, PayPal has been chosen as a key digital wallet for NSW Government agencies under a new whole-of-government agreement.
PayPal’s strong reputation for reliability, trust, and our ongoing investment in data security and consumer protection were key factors in the selection. The agreement builds on PayPal’s strong presence in Australia, where we have 9.5 million active accounts nationally, including almost 60% of NSW adults.1
Each year more than 140 million payments are made to NSW Government agencies and now they will be able to offer PayPal as a convenient digital payment option. This means parents may be able to use PayPal for school excursions, families to settle medical bills, and visitors to pay entry fees at state venues, all with the payment method they already use and trust.
The partnership underscores our mission to make payments simpler, safer, and more flexible. We applaud the NSW Government for their leading approach to digital innovation and look forward to supporting them in delivering seamless digital service delivery for people across the state.
