Here are a few tips for using PayPal to send and receive money and shop online from the comfort of your home.

PayPal is a secure, easy way to pay and get paid without handling cash or sharing your full financial information with who you’re paying. If you’re just getting started, here are some tips for using PayPal to send and receive money and safely shop online for household essentials from the comfort of your home.  

Signing up for PayPal

Signing up for PayPal is free, and you can follow the easy steps in the video below to create an account and add your bank account, debit and credit cards to fund the payments you make with PayPal. You will also still earn points, miles and cash back when you link your rewards cards to PayPal.1

Fees

PayPal doesn’t charge a fee for opening an account with PayPal or sending and receiving money between family and friends who live in the same country with a linked bank account or debit card. Send and receive money between family and friends

PayPal’s send and request money feature allows you to send or request money between friends and family with an easy and secure platform. Sending money via PayPal is backed by fraud protection, 24/7 fraud detection monitoring and secure encryption technology. An account with PayPal is required to send and receive money, so if the recipient doesn’t have one, they can sign up for free.

Shop for everyday essentials

PayPal’s One Touch turns 16 digits into one touch and allows you to stay logged in on that  devices and check out across millions of mobile and online retailers around the world without having to type in usernames, passwords or 16-digit credit card numbers for each transaction. If your purchase doesn't arrive, or is significantly different than what was advertised you may qualify for Buyer Protection, and we’ll reimburse you for the full purchase price plus any original shipping costs. (Limits Apply). And if you aren’t happy with your order and want to return it, PayPal refund the cost of sending it back. Get refunded for up to $30 on 12 eligible purchases a year – even on international orders. 

Password Recovery

If you forgot your password, you can reset it from the top of any paypal.com page after selecting “Login.” Then enter the email address associated with your PayPal account and reset your password via text, email or phone by entering the 6-digit code provided.
